Time stamp in S7-300

ShahinM Silver Member Joined: 11/8/2005 Last visit: 6/5/2024 Posts: 335 Rating: (3)	I want to use DI16 (6ES7321-7BH01-XXXX) besides CPU315 and select time of day stamp of this card but it'snot appeared in this configuration.I want to know, is it possible or not?

The time stamp feature will appear in HW configuration when you use this modulein ET200M staion. If you insist to put it in central rack behind CPU, you can use OB40 to detect events (hardware interrupts) and read time of day at each individual interrupt. This way is not efficient because you have to make sure that the time between any 2 events is less than the execution of OB40 and you can't define resolution of sequence of events. I thinkthe 7BH01 module may support time stamping of events with resolution up to 1 msec if you use it with ET200M. Best regards.

According to this FAQ, it is only possible with S7-400 but if you take a look at ET200M manual which you can find in Dchartier's replyto this thread, you will find that you can use precise time stamping feature outside S7-400 with a CPU with integrated DP clock master but it's not stated clearly that it can be S7-300 CPU (Page 127/290). I hope one of the forum's experts would tell us if it is possible or not.

As far as i know CPU can not generate time frame - it can only FORWARD it.
