Plazz Posts: 73 Rating: (2)	Since installing SP1 over the weekend I havediscovered that my HMI’s no longer time sync with the PLC using the traditional method? Does anyone know the solution? Regards, Plazz

Plazz Posts: 73 Rating: (2)	Hmm, not sure if it is the same problem? I have 1x 1214 CPU with 2x KTP600 HMI’s connected to it. The system has been running fine but I needed to make a small change to one of the HMI’s. This change being made after installing SP1. During the software download Portal claimed that my HMI firmware was out of date and then proceeded to erase the flash etc. When the download was complete the HMI would no longer time sync? The second HMI still kept perfect time however. I have since made a change to the second HMI and after going through the same ‘erase flash’ scenario, this one now no longer time syncs either? I’m still confused as to why this would be? Plazz

Meanwhile SP1 is installed and synchro with KTP600 is no longer OK. KTP1000 still unsolved. I made an appointment with Siemens and they will come to check it out . I will post it if there is a solution. koenb

Tonska Posts: 3 Rating: (0)	I did have a same problem when I updated Step 7 basic SP1 and my KTP400 firmware. I solved it in my case. I did PLC factory reset and also memory reset. After that I downloaded to PLC and KTP400 program again and then it works. Time sync was back and time ok in KTP400. It works when I have firmware version 2.03 now I updated to 2.12. No time sync is not working and factory reset won't help. ===> Nothing seems to helpI'll wait for solution from Siemens. Mean while I'll use NTP server on KTP400 and PLC. It works.

Tonska Posts: 3 Rating: (0)	You should try to make copy of time_sync variables (3 pcs) in HMI panel and then delete those orginals and then these new variables rename to the old one's. I gues it remakes connections to the PLC? You don't have make any other corrections. Then just download to the panel. In FW2.03 should help. I made with this action some progress but in FW2.12 it won't help. Report if it helps.

Tonska Posts: 3 Rating: (0)	I got it to work.Well I also updated SP1 upd1 also but this update did't help in symbolic access. What I did was that: 1. In PLC: I changed time sync DB to S7-300/S7-400 compatility and changed also local_READ, system_READ and system_WRITE to absolute access. 2. In HMI (KTP400) I changed Date/time ->PLC tag ...local_READ to absolute access. I downloaded to PLC and to HMI. It works again

Figured out that the HMI doesn't connect to the DTL variable from the read local time instruction and he has passed the problem to germany. Siemens Germany wrote that they know about the problem and that development is working on it. hopefully they get the job done soon.
