Time tagged of Upper/Lower limit of external analog value is not synchronised

My current configuration are: (1)"Time synchroization" is taking the Master server (redundancy configuration) as the "Synchronization via Terminal Bus (Slave)" -> "Use the time from a specific computer". (2) Analog Alarm, mapping the external tag as "Tags to be monitored" (3) Limit values (lower/upper), using a self-created internal tags to handle the limits. I do see that the time displayed on the Slave PC synchronised to the Master PC, but how is the accuracy of the time (upto msec)? cykee

Ikkezelf Posts: 1084 Rating: (72)	Hi, You could use the timesynchronisation utility within the wincc explorer. You will get this option when you install "basic process control". within this utility you can define the timeserver. with regards, ikkezelf

Salma Gold Member Joined: 9/27/2005 Last visit: 11/27/2007 Posts: 1398 Rating: (151)	I have not personally used an external time server but you can find a list of supported devices in the WinCC manual under Options / Options for Process Control / Time Synchronization / Hardware Support of Time Synchronization/ Time Signal Receiver. Hopefully this will set you on the right track.

Nemo Posts: 3149 Rating: (171)	Hi, as far as I know, Windows synchronization only guarantees a time synchronization of 2 seconds.. Many plants are using siclock for their synchronisation: http://siemens-edm.de/siclock.0.html?id=109&L=2 you can find there some interesting applications as well. regards, nemo
