time transfer through NTP

thanozn Bronze Member Joined: 7/29/2008 Last visit: 1/28/2025 Posts: 97 Rating: (4)	Hello, I am having trouble setting a NTP time transfer from a PC to an IM151-8PN/DP CPU. I have activated the NTP mode through the PNIO under the tab Time-of-Day Synchronization, entered the correct ip address but still I don't see any time syncing through the Set time of Day. I also noticed that hw of the cpu under diagnostics/clock tab the clock syncronization is not enabled for any change to set sync type. Does anybody have any idea?

At the PN interface, there is only the functionality as a time client. So, for that reason the other options there isn't active. Perhaps the this FAQ will helps you How do you configure a PC as NTP server?. You will need uncrossed twisted pair cable for connection. Best regards, Hristo MIhalev

However the time displayed is not the correct one. The PLC time is 3 hours sooner. I suppose it is GMT +2 and summer time +1. I found a FAQ for the summer/winter time. Is there a way to correct the time just after being updated by NTP sync (syncing is performed every 1 hour)?
