Time type. Scale and casting.

Hello mates,

I've a problem with Time type, I've a net with several S7-300 and S7-1200 and I migrated a WinCC from v7.0 to TIA portal v13. It was the less bad choice looking to reuse several HMI screens in TIA portal.

A several vars of S7-1200 controllers have Time type and I need a 0.1 second resolution, as the HMI panels show.

if I scale the Time vars in 100:1 relationship TIA portal truncates the decimal part, obviosly, the local WinCC type is DInt.

But I can't change the local var type to Real or something that can be divided without truncating.

I've the option to develop a script but seems a big workaround when the things should be direct.

Is there any option which I'm missing?

Another bug in the bug forest. Of course, TIA portal it's buggy as well as deadly slow as all of us know.

At the combo only ONE option WinCC offers you, DInt. But if YOU TYPE in "Real", WinCC accepts without problem.

I'll test if really works like must work.

if I right understand, you have some varaibles in format TIME and you want to show teh values in a HMI-picture in a resolution 0.1 s?

You can show the time with resolution 0.1 s if you scale the value 1:100 (that what you do) and set the decimal places at Properties/general to "1" (see picture 1 at the attachment).

Also you can set at Properties/Appearrance/Text/Unit to " s". Then you can see the the s in your I/O-field (see picture 2 at the attachment).

But we're working with WinCC Professional (the old WinCC), not WinCC Flexible/Advance.

In this program this option is not avaliable.

Finally it's a bug at the combo where the user must choice the destination HMI type.

Up to now TIA Portal is a nightmare since version 10.5.

A big, big size projects (Mb)

Only one window to work. Too integrated.

I'm still have the same issue with WinCC PROF v13 SP1, I need to scale more time var type with ONE decimal resolution (tenths of second) and scaling 1:100 the time var value cuts the values after decimal point.

The ideal way to do this is as I was doing with WinCC 7.0, convert Time PLC datatype to Real HMI datatype and specify the scaling.

But I don't know why in WinCC PROF it'snt possible to manage time value as real.

Any solution?

I can't use absolute addressing!
