timer or timing function in WinCC

P.C. Posts: 23 Rating: (1)	Hey guys, I am trying to write a scriptwhich sets a bit for just 5 sec. After 5 sec, the bit returns to 0 by itself. I know I can utilize a "for loop" to achieve this. But is there any built-in function in WinCC that I can implement directly? Best regards, P.C.

If yes, just write a global script triggered every 5 sec and write a function to toggle bit (something like: read tags...negate it...write same tag). Result is 5sec ON and 5 sec OFF. Regards

P.C. Posts: 23 Rating: (1)	Hey guys, Thanks for your responses. The action (set/reset) I want to achieve is not cyclic. To be more specific, when a trigger occurs, a bit will be set (1 or ON) for 5 sec. Then after 5 sec have elapsed, the bit returns to reset (0 or OFF) itself. By the way, how do I access the cyclic timer in global script? Is that inside C-Editor or VBS-Editior? Hopefully I can find a non-cyclic timer from the same location. Best regards, Paul Chen

"Cyclic timers" are really trigger events, which can start your programmed actions at pre-defined timeperiods.I treat them as some sort of "time triggered interrupts". Actions can be programmed in both, C-script editor an VBS-script editor (see WinCc help system). In WinCC, there are no classic timers, such as they are in PLC-world (at least, I don´t know for them). You can create your own, let say "soft" timers, but with use of programmed cyclic actions. have fun! uel123
