Hi,

The manual “SIMATIC S7-1500 Structure and Use of the CPU Memory”( http://support.automation.siemens.com/BR/view/en/59193101) gives a complete information about memories and retentivity.

TIPs:

Settings
- Memories, Times and Counters are set as retentive in PLC tags -> Retain buttom (“Battery Key” icon).
- DB’s are set as retentive in the DB editor, column “Retain”.

Behaviors:
The table 2-1 (page 16) of the manual shows retentivity the possibilities.

Follow an overview of this table:

Memory object	STOP → STARTUP	POWER ON →STARTUP	Memory reset	Reset to factorysettings
Actual values of the DB, memories, timers and counters, set as Retain	retained	retained	initialized	initialized

The size of the retain area of the diagnostic buffer stay on the CPU specifications manual.

Total: 3200 entries
Retentive: 500 entries
