Hi, Here there are some tips about S7-1500 connections resources: References: You can get detailed information about connections resources in the manual “SIMATIC S7-1500, ET 200MP, ET 200SP Communication” (http://support.automation.siemens.com/WW/view/en/59192925), in special, in chapter 10. Offline, the STEP7 V12 shows the available/used number of connections for all modules of station (i.e. CPU, CM and CP) Device & Networks, Network view (or Device view), selecting the CPU and going in the Properties/General tab, topic “Connection resources”. Online, the STEP7 V12 shows the available/used number of connections for all modules of station (i.e. CPU, CM and CP) in the Device & Networks; select the CPU, Diagnostics tab, Connection information. Limits The “Connection resources” table shows a “Station resource” column and so many other columns as CPU, CP and CM are in the station. Each column (for CPU, CP and CM) shows the individual limits. The “Station resource” column shows the total available for the station. Note that the station has also his limitations (for example, maximal connections resources <= 256) and the “Station resource” column may not represent simply the sum of all other columns. Warning triangle in the column Dynamic When a warning triangle are showed in the column “Connection resources” / “Dynamic” it is means that the sum of each individual resources (for CPU, CP and CM) exceed the maximum for the station, and because this, it will be reduced/limited. “Other Communication” row Other Communication row represents communications with third-part devices (not configured and not programmed in the CPU) and/or via data record routing. Number of Connections Generally each communication takes one connection resource. Exceptions: HMI communications and Routing: HMI connections The number of connections that one HMI takes is related with the type of HMI and the used applications resources. - A Basic Panel requires 1 or 2 connections. - A Comfort Panel requires2 or 3 connections. If the PLC is used as a “bridge” (S7 routing) for a communication (even for data record routing); this routing takes 2 connections of the CPU. |

New question published by Goran_ is split to a separate thread with the subject Warning, sum of resources exceed the maximum, but there is only one. Best regards |
