Hi,

The STEP 7 V15 has a new feature that makes possible to upload an online IO-device configuration to an offline project: Hardware detection of PROFINET IO devices.

This feature makes possible timesaving through automatic detection of IO devices, in the cases when there is no exactly information about an IO device during the programming phase or in startup / maintenance, when a real IO device doesn’t match with the project definition (IO device found but showed that the configured device differ of the online device).

For the hardware detection of PROFINET IO devices:

Requirements:

1. It is necessary to open the project where you desire to upload the IO device
2. It is necessary to have an online access to the desired IO device (it could be checked on Project tree -> Online Access -> “PC’s Ethernet interface card” -> Update devices)
3. IO devices configured through “Hardware detection” have neither an IP subnet nor an IO controller assigned (a device name, without IO controller assigned, is possible)

Procedure (see attached a cast about it)

1. Open the project
2. Open Network View (Devices & Networks),
3. Go to open menu: online -> Hardware detection -> IO devices
4. Click on Start search; TIA will list all reachable IO devices
5. Select the desired IO devices
6. Click on Add Devices.

TIPS:

- There is no check if a device is already in the project. Every time a device is selected for detection, it is added to project even if it is already in the project.
