Hi, As from V11 SP2 ud4 it is possible to do online backups of PLC devices.A description of it could be found in the readme file of the update 4 (http://support.automation.siemens.com/BR/view/en/58112582). Here some tips (and highlights from the read me) about it (but I recomend to read the readme file first of all): 1 - What it does? “You can back up the hardware configuration and software of a device in the TIA Portal. Thismeans that you can load and try out a new configuration on a device without risk. If necessary, you can restore the old configuration of the device.” Note: The upload could not be directly edited in V11. The main usage is the capacity to upload and download pre configured sets (like prosave with HMI). 3 - How to do it? Part A - Upload "To create an online backup of the current software and hardware configuration of a device, follow these steps: 1. Select the device in the project tree. 2. Select the "Download backup from online device" command in the "Online" menu. If you have not previously established an online connection, the "Extended download to device" dialog opens, and you must first select the interfaces via which you want to establish the online connection to the device... Hello vipz, 1. The complete HW config + Blocks are stored together as a binary code. When you re-download using this backup, all the settings are also downloaded back to the CPU (incl. module adress, retentivity ranges, etc) 2. Hope you have read this already- How upload a S7-1200 program in STEP 7 V11 SP2 3. It is always recommended to upload the blocks from the same platform (STEP 7 Classic or STEP 7 TIA Portal) which is used to download. If STEP 7 v5.5.x is used to download the blocks intially to the CPU, it can be uploaded using STEP 7 v5.5.x and then migrated to TIA Portal and then downloaded. (Though it is working in your case, it may not work in all situations). |
