Lucky123 Gold Member Joined: 12/20/2008 Last visit: 8/25/2022 Posts: 556 Rating: (236)	DO WE HAVE A TOTALIZING TIMER IN S7 400 PLC, TIMER WHICH KEEPS COUNTING AS LONG AS THE PLC IS ON, RETAIN VALUE AFTER POWER OFF, AND WHEN AGAIN PLC COMES ON, IT STARTS COUNTING FROM WHERE IT LEFT.

Programming runtime meters (APPnote# 214) If you can live with a measure of runnning time that only retains the hours run (no minutes) then I would suggest you study the Runtime Meter shown in both FAQs. It can be initiated by setting the S parameter of SFC3 ."CTRL_RTM" in all startup OBs (OB100, OB101 and OB102, depending on the type of CPU you are using), therefore it would be active whenever the CPU is in Run mode. To do so, reset M10.0 in OB100 for example, and set it in OB1 (to see a rising edge) before you call SFC3, The Runtime Meter total is always retained, whatever the cause of a PLC stop. However, just need to confirm, let's suppose, it was 1 hour and 50 minutes 59 seconds on the first run mode of the CPU for this energy meter, when we power down and power up, will this timer starts from one hour 51 minutes or it again restarts at 1 hour 1 seconds? Please confirm, I went through the App note, but it does not specify the same. Thanks, Lalit

And I cannot find any other information on the subject. So basically I would suggest you set a Runtime Meter up (good training in any case) and simply try it... Tell us how it results.
