TP 177A 6" - replacement

I am ordering replacement and their offer was a6AV6 642-0AA11-0AX1. I do not have backup protool program and I plan to transfer contents of6AV6 642-0AA11-0AX0 to the new6AV6 642-0AA11-0AX1. Will this work?

Will this work? Hello, Most probably you will need a original WinCC Flex project. Using a Prosave is possible to take a backup file from the old panel. But after will not be possible to restore it under different MLFB number. Best regards, Hristo MIhalev

I asked their technical guy and said that loading a file via Prosave is possible to the new part number. Is this really true? Or he is just telling me so that I will buy the hardware and then later on find out that it will not work.

Dear jenie, I think you can use Prosave to backup project of Old panel and Restore it on New panel. Because it is the same panel. (Only last digit changes in MLFB, mostly means only a change in intern electronics) It are my thougts Best regards, Wizard

According to thislink,6AV6 642-0AA11-0AX1is the successor of6AV6 642-0AA11-0AX0 Even if you have the configuration file of WinCC flex., when you develop a new project using WinCC flex., you select only the Panel, size. You do not select the panels by part numbers. You can open now a project with WinCC flex. you will not found MLFB of panels. So, you should have the configuration file if and only if you have to change the panel type. But in this case, only the version have been changed, so it will work. Please try it and inform us by the result. Hope this helps.

UMENCHO Diamond Expert Joined: 3/21/2006 Last visit: 11/1/2024 Posts: 10229 Rating: (1181)	Well,I am sure if the "midlepart of MLFB number" isdifferent when you are trying to restore the Prosave backupthere will be a message displayed, the message is : "Downloading was not possible because the hardware configuration of the operating unit is incompatible" . With a difference in the "last part of MLFB number" really I didn't try it. Like indirect confirmation that replacement is possibleshould be that 0AX1 is successor product of 0AX0. Plus following http://support.automation.siemens.com/WW/view/en/29386622explaining what means the last digit there. Best regards, Hristo Mihalev

Ayman Elotaify Platinum Member Joined: 5/28/2008 Last visit: 11/6/2024 Posts: 4516 Rating: (839)	Hello, Yes as the both links shared by Umencho and me tells that6AV6 642-0AA11-0AX1is the successor of6AV6 642-0AA11-0AX0, but what I wanted to say is that prosave file is the compiled file downloaded to the panel. so this file is created on your PC/PG. And then transfered to your panel. So till now, the compiled file does not containg the complete MLFB of the Panel as you did not select panels by Part number. It has only type and size of panels. So, if you have now the two panels and you have created the software using WinCC flex., you will transfer the same project to both panels. If you want to backup both panels using Prosave, it should be the same file, or let me say that both files have the same finger print if you used panels with older part number (6AV6 642-0AA11-0AX0) or newer one (6AV6 642-0AA11-0AX1) Hope this helps.
