transfer more than double word a time

Abdelaal Posts: 76 Rating: (16)	dear all, is ther any way to transfer more than double word a time from master plc to slave plc and vice versa ?? let say 10 bytes a time . what are the instructions for that?? thanks in advance regards

If you mean exchanging data between a Profibus master and slave, the limit for one telegram for each slave is 244 bytes IN/244 bytes OUT; why do you talk about 4 bytes? If you are using standard Profibus configurations, the number and size of modules required for the slave will determine the size of the exchange data. Some slaves require a little as 4 bytes IN/OUT(a Micromaster drive in PPO3 configuration, for example); others much more (a standard mapping 3.1 for a Siprotec protection relay requires a combination of modules that totalizes 4 words OUT/100 Bytes IN). As you add modules inside a slave configuration, the master's input/output area for that slave will increase accordingly, and you will be able to read/writew over Profibus to the complete data area of the slave. If you need to transfer data in other configurations, using consistent data for example (SFC14/SFC15) then each function will have its limtations. SFC14/SFC15 are limited to transfering 64 words/128 bytes at a time. Hope this helps, Daniel Chartier
