Transfer of S5/S7 300 programs to S7 1200

V1ktor Posts: 1 Rating: (0)	Hello everyone, As I understand there is no possibility to migrate a S7 200 project to S7 1200 project in Step 7 Basic v.10. How about S5Projects? How about S7 300 projects? As you understand the case is a retrofit of S5 controlled equipment. We can use the transfer of S5 software project to S7 300 project. But can we use S7 1200 in this case without losing much time for writing existing programs? Hope someone answers.

Hi V1ktor I don't think there is a tool for that, since some functionality provided by S7-200 is not available -yet - in S7-1200. However, since S7-200 programs are relatively small and easy to understand, I don't see a reason why _manual_ migration wouldn't be possible (provided that the functionality is supported V1ktor How about S5Projects? How about S7 300 projects? AFAIK, S7-1200 is not meant for such a retrofit. The CPUs that replaced S5 are S7-300/400. Hope this helps Aristotelis

Yu-wen Tang Silver Member Joined: 10/7/2009 Last visit: 1/20/2025 Posts: 266 Rating: (95)	Yes, there is a S7-200 to S7-1200 software convertion tool, you can download from below: http://support.automation.siemens.com/WW/view/en/40553471 But, some codes can not be converted, basically the wizard generated codes including HSC, PTO/PWM, EM253, NETW/NETR, PID and all communication function codes. Iwill convert the program manually,would be more reliable I think.
