Treatment of ABB drive with Profibus

soussia Posts: 63 Rating: (1)	hello everyone, I have an ABB drive and I want to connect to profibus, I downloaded the corresponding GSD file and I did the hardware configuration. the problem is how to handle this drive by the STEP7 (CPU 315-2DP)? is there a predefined function that handles the drive?

Marciano Bronze Member Joined: 4/30/2007 Last visit: 3/9/2023 Posts: 231 Rating: (23)	Probably not, at least not from Siemens Normally for a Drive you will need a couple of input and output Words, typically is 3 or 4 Words for PD or Process Data (things like Speed, Ramp, control bits, etc.). So you need to refer to ABB driver’s manual or support to see how it works. I hope this helps, Marciano

You have not mentioned, which Profibus module you are using. Pl see attached manual for ABB RPBA01 Profibus module which we have used a lot. The Structure of Control Word and setpoints is quite similar ( There are subtle differences though ) It supports various profidrive PPOs.
