xenonn Posts: 10 Rating: (0)	Hi, Best wishes for 2007 to all! I'm working on a SICAM PAS / WinCC project, that includes visualization of >100 HV switches (=double point information) installed. I want to trigger a certain VB script immediately when at least 1 of these changes position at any time. And this for spontaneous as well as for user initiated (via WinCC screens) switching... I could write a cyclic VB script that checks all these positions against the previous positions every x minutes, but this would take a lot of code (hardcoding every tag of every switch...) and WinCC doesn't like cyclic scripts... Is there any (built-in) way to do this more efficiently? Thanks in advance, Bert

xenonn Posts: 10 Rating: (0)	I don't exactly understand the question... The switch objects on all my WinCC screens are indeed linked to Digsi>IEC Station> SicamPAS tags. Most positions are "read" by Siprotec 7SJ bay units on their binary input ports.

Danielle Posts: 1275 Rating: (123)	Hi xenonn, What we're suggesting is that you create an Action, in Global Script. Actions can be triggered by either timers or tags! In your case theaction would be triggered by the tags, and the standard cicle would be "upon change", meaning that whenever any of those tags were changed the script would run! Got it? If your tags are internal tags then you should use the Upon Change poll rate. If they are external tags then you should not use the Upon Change poll rate but instead one of the others such as 1second. xenonn Posts: 10 Rating: (0)	OK, this is a possibility. But for 150 HV switches in the installation, this means I'd need to hardcode the 150 external tags in the trigger section. Is there a limit to the total triggering tags possible? I was hoping there would be a more efficient way to do this which wouldn't involve hardcoding these 150 double point tags. I myself was thinking about the "quitblinking" internal tag, which is set to 255 when you press the acknowledgebutton to stop spontaneous blinking of device objects. Would this be helpful in any way?
