Trouble configuring master 315 2DP (configuration table)

PeterM Posts: 3 Rating: (0)	I'm trying to establish a profibus network with two 315 2DP PLC's one as a master and one as a slave. I have been using this training document as a guide However when I get to to step 31 the configuration tab appears as in the attachment.This is unlike that of the document which appears to be the same for configuring the slave (in the case of the slave the configuration tabappeared slightly differently but the same information could be inputed) Has any one any advice on what to enter into this table in order to correctly configure the master. Also if anyone is feeling generous could they explain what the different pieces of information in the configuration table mean as I don't understand what exaclty it is doing. The DX are for listening to another Slave where the iSlave can "see" also the data to the Master...

PeterM Posts: 3 Rating: (0)	Late thank you for your reply I think I might know where I went wrong. I was accessing the configuration of the DP Master which brought up the table that I attached. While I believe I should of been accessing the configuration of the slave in the master hardware setup. I won't get to the work bench to test it till wednesday unfortunately. i have a few questions about what's going on in the configuration tab The"local addresses" in the document that I linked to in my original post are "I40" and "O40" while on the guide that you linked to they are "E0""A0" "E1" "A1" etc. Whatis meantby local address or what is it the address of?What do these letters signify? What is the difference between the letters and numeric values used ineither documents? Also the same questions above for the "partner address". Are these addresses of memory locations? Also the consistency. What is meant by conistency and what is the difference between the options"unit" and "all". I have read the document but am still having trouble grasping what the "configuration" is doing. I appreciate any and all help

J_Bell Posts: 5822 Rating: (412)	Hello, let me try to explain a view. So, what is the difference between I/Q and E/A? There is none. I == E and Q == A. Consistency says something about the Data transferred. If you try to transfer Data that is 6 Byte long. If you have Consistency over unit than you can be sure that, depending of the used Byte or Word each unit (Byte or Word) is complete but the complete 6 Byte are not. If you have a Consistency over all than all 6 Byte are collected at once, so they are complete and taken at once so the value is valid. Best regards J_Bell
