Trying to change begin/end coordinates of a line

So now instead, I am trying to change the x,y (start/end) coordinates of a lineI already created. But it seems EndLeft, StartLeft, EndTop, StartTop are not readable nor writable Check: https://www.automation.siemens.com/mdm/default.aspx?DocVersionId=56521909643&TopicId=36127458059 Is there a workaround? K!ke Hi K!ke, This is not what I meant, if you read closer you will see it says "changing the x,y coordinates of begin and end point of a line", not changing the x y coordinates of the line itself.Also, a trend is no option, it does not apply in my case. Any work-around has comprimises.. maybe some of these will not work for you. I have no experience with the comfort panels, but I can think of a few helpful questions needing answers: * Executed to one line (element) or several lines? * Can the one co-ordinate be fixed? * Is the placing of the co-ordinates random? My feeling tells me you want to draw a "tool path". If that is true, you also want to extract the co-ordinates. PS: I'm not trying to win points answering your call. Greetings. w Hi William, to elaborate; actually what I'm trying to create is a conversion from 3D to 2.5D, I know the comfort panels do not support 3D trending, so I figured "why not make one my self?" Now the conversion from 3D to 2.5D works great, Icreated a function which converts the xyz coordinated to xy coordinates. Now I can create little circles(rectangles, crosses, whatever,...) and move them to the calculated location using VBS by changing left, top properties of that object. But now comes the second part, connecting those coordinates with lines. I've did some searches and figured out creating a line with start and end pointout of nothing is impossible by means of VBS. So I'd thought by myself, if I could just add some invisible lines to my screen and I could just change the x,y start and end coordinates and make it visible when nessecary I could still "sort of" accomplish what I wanted (with limitation offcourse). Now that optionalso doesn't seem that easy (since those parameters seems not readable nor writable), so now I'm looking for another workaround. I've thought about calulating the path between two coordinates and connecting them with dots (again by manipulating the x,y position) but that is just too bold and too much work. Also tried using xy trend but that just wasn't my cup of thee, I really want this by means of VBS. So I'm looking for another option. ANY option ;) Kind regards, Jens

William_B Posts: 5225 Rating: (1192)	Wow Jens! I do like you style. Sorry.. I personally do not have anything useful to offer you on this one. I assume a constant angle is used to simulate depth (15 or 30 degrees). The closest I can come up with is a drawn element (3D cube) to "build" the image. But to build it from the pixel level would be much more dinamic. When you are done with this vector drawing project [wink] the guys at inkscape.org could sure use your help. .. that is unless you can get them to port their software for Windows CE.

I really do admire what you have done.. the maths must be impressive. I'd like to see some experts' opinions on this matter of yours. The guys who give their time for free for software like Inkscape also impresses me. Inkscape is free software used to develop vector drawings. Some even use this software to generate G-code for CNCs (rather DNC). It is also possible to generate code driven vector drawings and have it displayed via Inkscape. Whishfull thinking wanting such a program to work on a Siemens panel. Even if Siemens panels could display the SVG format it could save memory space currently waisted on bitmaps (BMP). Even PNG would be better suited for panels than BMPs.. But that has nothing to do with your search for a solution. Now I keep my big mouth shut.

I am so sorry to inform you the math isn't that great, I just use the xyz coordinates to calculate the xy coordinates.Usinga fixed xyz coordinate system and a fixedangle between xyzmakes it easy to use phytagoras (you know maybe the "soscastoa" trick, learned in school back in the days). Thuschanging the isometric into a cartesiancoordinate system.
