TS II teleservice. sending SMS over standard telephone line.

Now in my case it's an TS II adapter and what I now like to do is sending over the standard analog telephone line an SMS. The GSM module does already work. Almost every telephone company does have an number for the wired net, tot send an SMS to. It shout be possible with the TS II adapter. (it has already an analog and ISDN modem inside) As soon if I try the Adapter comes back with: 7002 (busy)......B302 (connect GSM modem) As soon if I connect on the RS232 port an external modem, the SMS_SEND block comes back with: 7002 (busy)......B615 (unspecify error massage from connected modem) 1e: I'am using an standard modem cable (as told on the siemens site) 2e: Why does the internal modem come with B302. As you say there is a number of the analog telephone line, but normally this lines are not managed well. So in our country most of the time you have to call the phonecompany that it isn't work. Then the reset there equipment and it will work for some time. [:cry:] The TSII adapter is not given free in every country... [:o] The messages are not known to me.. skollie Posts: 4 Rating: (0)	Hello there, We're having the same problem/challenge over here and our conclusion, the internal modem cannot be used for SMS messages (at least not in combination with FB48), has been confirmed by Siemens Support Netherlands Dear colleague, Customer has TS Adapter II analogue and is trying to send sms with the internal modem. He gets error 80C3. We found an example on the internet with an external gsm modem. Is this external modem for sms always requierd? Is it still possible to send sms with analogue modem? Answer from the Technical Support for SIMATIC S5/S7: Your questions: 1. Is this external modem for sms always requierd? My answer: The answer is yes. Sending an SMS from an S7-PLC 300/400. With the "SMS_SEND" function block FB48 a SIMATIC automation system can send an SMS via a GSM wireless modem. 2. Is it still possible to send sms with analogue modem? My answer: Unfortunately, sending a SMS over analogue modem (internal or external) is still not supported. The customer can not use the internal analogue modem in the TS Adapter II for the realization of the function SMS_SEND (FB48). Unfortunately, I do not have better information for you. As far as I know it's actually not a matter of modem capabilities, but rather sending the right AT/Hayes commands to the modem. We did monitor the communication over the RS232 line to find out what the differences between a external GSM modem and the internal modem were. It's on the SMS specific commands where the internal modem responds with an error, which translates to an error return value on the FB48. Looks like the FB48 is build with the assumption that there's an GSM modem connected. Inspired by an application example from WAGO, I know it must be possible to control an analog modem via RS232 and send an SMS via the fixed network. http://www.wago.com/wagoweb/documentation/app_note/a1120/a112000e.pdf Unless you want to develop your own FB48 it looks like the TSA-II is a no go. So it is not necessary to have it because in the future it will not be supported by any telephone company anymore.

There are a lot of other providers wo have a number with extra fee, witch do support SMS over analog line. Anyone can call that number, the only thing is that they charge you some extra costs. We do use an programm (windows) what does support that possebility Best regards
