I had trouble getting it to work for me too on an S7-1500.

I doesn't help when the help text is incorrect, and has status codes missing so you cannot decypher what the problem is.

I tried to set up my UDP connection using an unmanaged connection using open communication. The help file says that the CONNECT parameter should point to a TCON_IP_V4 structure for UDP connections (when actually it should be a TCON_Configured structure). It also says that the ADDR parameter is hidden and optional, which also turns out to be completely wrong (the ADDR parameter is required and should be connected to a TADDR_Param structure). During my testing, I got error code 16#80B3 which is not listed in the help file for the TSEND_C block. After much searching, I eventually resolved this down to the "so called optional" ADDR parameter not being connected. It was lucky that I had the excellent Mr Bergers TIA / S7-1500 books to consult else I would not have realised this. But even when I connected the ADDR parameter up it didn't work, I just got a different error code 16#8089 to replace the 16#80B3. This told me that I hadn't connected the CONNECT parameter to DB, which was nonsense because I clearly had. It later transpired that it was not connected to the correct structure type - so why didn't the error text say that instead of the totally misleading "not connected to a DB" text?

So I raised an SR and I was told to use a managed connection. You do this by highlighting the TSEND_C block and entering your details of the connection in the inspector window. Once this is done, the relevant strauctures are defined in a DB that it creates for you in the System Blocks/Program Resources area and it also connects it to the relevent parameters on the TSEND_C block automatically. On inspecing the data it created for me, it turns out the the CONNECT parameter is expecting a TCON_Configured structure (NOT a TCON_IP_V4 structure as the help file says) the ADDR parameter is required and is expecting a TADDR_Param structure (as Mr Bergrs book corerctly says but the help text doesn't). So 1/10 only Siemens for the help text on the TSEND_C block. So I suggest that you try a managed connection and see if that helps. Oh and get Mr Bergers book as the help text can obviously not be relied upon to be any help at all. It cost me 3 days of wasted effort trying to get it working. I'm not very happy about this!

Well I can't be angry like you, I am still beginner so I always assume that I am doing something wrong :)

 I wasn't angry, I was just frustrated and dissillusioned. Whenever I try to do anything on this system I have issues and it is starting to grate a little now. Why do they make it so hard to use? Why does it contain so many bugs? Why is the documentation wrong / incomplete / misleading or in some cases all three? As I have said before, I would have expected better from a long established PLC manufacturer with a reputation of quality. Well this software is certainly eroding their reputation somewhat.
