Two CPU315-2DP as Profibus-DP Slaves and one cp-5611 as Profibus-DP master

rezakh Posts: 7 Rating: (0)	Dear experts Here at one sidewe have two Mitsubishi Gas turbines that have one common server and at the other side Siemens Teleperm-XP DCSversion 7, and at DCS side we want to recieve data at two different area ( for each Gas Turbine) and at every area 250 bytes data. Hardware already fixed, means we have two s7-300 plcs with CPU315-2DP at DCS side and cp-5611 at Mitsubishi server side. Now my question , Is it possible to have cp-5611 as profibus-DP master and two CPU315-2DP as profibus-DP slave? and is it possible to send 250 bytes data from cp-5611 to every slave? I should tell that every s7-300 system must be independent from the other system ( this is reason that we consider them as slaves). Do you have any sample program? Thanks for your notice. Reza

J_Bell Posts: 5822 Rating: (412)	Dear Reza, to tell you the truth, I see no problem in the structure of your network. Two S7-300 CPUs as i-Slaves and the CP 5611 as DP Master is no problem. My problem appears as I read you requirement of 250 Bytes of data. PROFIBUS DP allows over all a maximum of 244 Bytes... so this will be tough to meet. At the other hand I have an alternative for you, as you already use this Hardware, how about changing form DP-communication to S7-communication? You may even keep your configuration as it is. You may collect the data required form PLC 1 and store it to PLC 2, just as it is with DP....and vice versa. In this case you may also use 250 Bytes and more, if you want. May this solution meet your requirements? Best regards J_Bell

J_Bell Posts: 5822 Rating: (412)	Hello, Hardware - No additional HW is needed. Software - Instead of the SOFTNET DP you need SOFTNET S7 Software licensewith OPC Server... usually. Best regards J_Bell
