Two PC with two H Station

Rainery Posts: 3 Rating: (0)	Hi all. I'm a new in H Systems and i have some little questions. In one project i have two 400H stations and two reserved PC stations with winCC. One PC is main, and another served for reservation purposes. Each PC must display info and control each station. How may i connect PC station and H station? In which way can i do it? Each H station contains two CP 443-1(with two RS-45) and each PC station has two CP1613. On each PC station installed RED-CONNECT. I draw schematic view of network(figure 2). Is it correct? Siemens will support there switches and can provide more help in their setup and diagnosing what is and what isnt a w switch problem.... but the short answer is, a non siemens switch can work. For your setup,your rack PCs through me off a bit, those are trying to represent the controllers (S7-400Hs) right? Now even though the CP443-1EX20 has two ethernet ports, you will only use one. Because you have redundant controllers, each CPU has an CP443-1, thus a redundant rack will have 2 CPU and thus 2 CP443-1s. I have created a little sketch to represent what I am describing. You also can have a connection between the two busses, if you setup your switches for a Ring Manager and a Standby (this is certain if you use Siemens switches).... My one question is, is one of the PC stations an ES/OS and the other is an OS? Thanks Attachment network.PDF (155 Downloads)

How do you configure a fault-tolerant S7 connection for a user application via Industrial Ethernet with the SIMATIC NET PC software?

About your question "My one question is, is one of the PC stations an ES/OS and the other is an OS?", if I clearly understand your question, I have two "separated" PC. Each is a industrial computer with Windows XP(i think) and WinCC. But I have little more question about WinCC in this configuration. How to provide redundancy for WinCC? I mean, if one PC station(main operators station with WinCC) failed, how should I switch to a reserved PC station(reserved operators station with WinCC)? How long does it take to switch(from main PC to reserved PC)?

Hello Rainery, The both the WinCC Station will be online in your case if one of the Fail PC fail then still you can operate WinCC From Reserved PC, for above case you have to configured the 2 PC Station in your Project with Link I have provied to you. in short you can used both WinCC Station same time, if one fail other is still in the opertion ......

Hello RugbyGuy, the Both WinCC Station are Stand alone Configuration, there is a no any Communication (link) between COM port or Ethernet. this Setting required in the Redundent Server Configuration. here both are independent & both Station are in Runtime, & there is a no any Switch over between two Station. if you used the Server Client Confiuration in that it is required which one is master & Slave, from which Server the Client PC is going to fatch the Data, is it clear for you. as you mention you required the ES, but one of the machine you can act as a ES/OS & other is only OS Station......

But I am not sure whether Rainery has indicated which way is the architecture. My preference is to have them redundant to synch messages, alarms and trends. This way, if one server goes down (for a download/repair) when it comes back up, it receives all the old messages, alarms...etc from the current server once it synchs up again. But you would also need to purchase the extra licensing server redundancy (dont know the cost)... so if $$$ is an issue, perhaps the two stand alone is best....
