_Kalle_ Posts: 62 Rating: (0)	Hello, I have this problem: I got a function that got a struct as an input: Input Input _1 bool _2 bool _3 bool : _32 bool I would like to call this fuction with different types of input, but I'm not allowed to call this function with an struct. How can I slove this ? With a pointer ? Please help! Kalle

Kalle Hello, What type of CPU you are programming for?Normally you can define a same structure in a global DB or in temporary area of calling function(or OB) and assign it to the input of the mentioned function. The problem was that i used the sum function in a function block that got the variables as an "inout" and that does not work, becuase "inout" uses pointers I think ? If you use the AT overlay for your interface, you can define the same input multiple ways. For example, 32-bools, 2-words, 4-bytes If you create a custom plc datatype, you may still want to define it as InOut, but that may make it easier to deal with.
