In my very humble opinion,

I agree with the choice of using Debian as a core distribution for Industrial OS development and it will certainly be a good job but I really appreciate the efforts you are making to develop an Ubuntu version.

The patches are online now, see https://github.com/siemens/meta-iot2050/commits/jan/ubuntu. You need to run

kas-container build kas-iot2050-example.yml:kas/opt/ubuntu.yml

to build the image. Feedback would be appreciated!

Just merged yours ubuntu branch into the current master branch with a little fix in kas/iot2050.yml, kas-container build just started. My IOT2050 Advance order not arrived yet.

EDIT: Build finished. No IOT2050 for testing yet :)

Out of curiosity I built the image from source jan/ubuntu as stated before off of the zip file.

The built process ran smoothly.

The image booted and I was able to change system hostname and ip address from eth0.
At that time no eth1 device was listed in nmtui.

After reboot it (re)appeared set to <automatic> ip.
But an IPV4 address was not provided. So I set it manually.

Which also did not work in the end.

I swapped in my second card with a working older "master" image and that worked so
I guess it is not the interface.

What did I overlook?
