Unable to configure the network

Prats Posts: 272 Rating: (4)	Hi All, I have IPC and whenever i connect it to LAN then i get the green and orange LED's blinking. When i ping the other PC it gives me an hardware error 3 times and then the command prompt window automatically closes.

The same behaviour had another type of IPC happens with me before 2 days. I installed the drivers verything was OK and suddenly no connection. (leds are blinking). No ping and no drivers. How were dissapered I am investigating at the moment. With no access from anybody, no internet - just IPC and PLC. Best regards, Hristo Mihalev

Prats Posts: 272 Rating: (4)	It is a fresh IPC which i opened 2 days back, I checked the driver status it was shouwing OK, IN fact i disabled them and then tested it. It reacted to the settings. Is there a possiblity that different versions of driver have been uploaded in the IPC ? Just a thought ;)

Another possiblity is bad cable or connector...Did you check in this direction... And what about the IP address? Best regards, Hristo Mihalev

It might be that if you have 2 NICs on one subnet, Windows tries to connect to the network via the first interface but the cable is beeing plugged to the second one. This is a windows problem with the routing. So, describe the network settings (which subnet etc), then open cmd shell via START > RUN > CMD, then type 'ipconfig /all' and post result here.

I tried again yesterday and following were the steps which i followed. 1) Configure a protocol in properties of both the drivers. 2) Disable one of the driver 3) Give an IP address 4) Ping to the partner. It worked well However i want to know that if i want to configure two different network from two different ports where should i change the configurationfor this ?

Have a look at http://www.ralphb.net/IPSubnet/for example, there you can inform yourself what subnets are and how to set them up. So, you need to configure each NIC itself.

Niranjan Prasad Posts: 691 Rating: (37)	I also wonder assigning two IP addresses in the same NIC creates problem with SIEMENS softwares, whereas it works perfect normally. Is it because of the internal switching done inside the NIC, which Siemens doesn't Allow?
