Unable to find the CPU via Accessible Devices

Saradhi Posts: 303 Rating: (3)	I can't find any accessible device when i want to connect to a 1214 dc/dc/dc but i can download the project to target cpu, their is no problem with the ping, i tried S7-1200 tool and PST v 4.1, still i can't find any accessible device. Please help me to solve the problem.

Please help me to solve the problem. On my portal installation, I typically have 3 network devices to select, only 1 of which actually works to connect to online devices. However, I can generally pick 2 or more for downloading. I think if the PST will not see the plc, it may require either a plc reboot or a pc reboot to function. I have seen that happen before where I could download just fine, but could not see it using the accessible devices option.

Sorry if that is how it came across. Try the reboot of the plc, then the pc if that does not work. Make sure the firmware you are using in the plc is the latest available as there have been buggy firmware released in the past. If you are using firmware 3.0.1, there is a news item stating if you contact Siemens support using the support request requesting 3.0.1, they will providea link to download it. Be careful you need the update as it might give you new problems.

My Configuration a. TIA Portal v11 sp1 and windows7. b. Firmware version is 2.1 CPU 1214 DC/DC/DC.

Versions below 2.2 have issues. Perhaps one of those issues is being accessible. The latest version of the portal may be enough to correct the problem (with all the updates). Ifnot, firmware update may correct it.
