Hello bruce_ooi even though I can't tell you why Siemens does not allow you to drag inthe DP/AS-i Link Advanced from the inbuilt HWcatalogue (aka metadata based configuration), it will work if you do a good old fashioned GSD file based configuration. To do so, downloadthe DP/AS-i LinksGSD file from PROFIBUS GSD files : AS-I, install it as per How do you integrate a GSD file into the STEP 7 HW Config for PROFIBUS or PROFINET?instruction and then drag in the DP/AS-i Link Advancedfrom the "Additional Field Devices" catalogue. Have a look too at What are the differences between the GSD files and the integrated metaknowledge in the HW Config? for additional info. I hope this helps |

I'm afraid to say that you'll need to make do with the configuration options that the GSD file based configuration offers you. Metadata based configuration tends to be more "user friendly", but since it is not possible behind a Y-Link, there's not much else you can do. Have a look at chapter the Manual DP/AS-Interface Link Advancedfor everything you need to know and especially chapter 6.3 for the info on GSDfile based configuration. I hope this helps |
