unable to monitor online with more than 1 FC

how come Posts: 382 Rating: (47)	Dear all, I am facing a problem with Step7 online monitoring. I wanted tomonitor both FCs blocks online at the same time. However when click the online button to monitor FC2, the existing online monitoring in FC1 will automatically switch off/switch over to FC2 and when i click to monitor FC1 again, FC2 monitoring will switch off. That means i can only monitor one FC at one time. I couldn't monitor 2 or 3 or more at the same time. I never face this problem before. Appreciate that anyone have any idea to help me on this! Thanks in advance. my Step7 isver5.4 SP3+HF1 with regards, how come

Safety1 Posts: 73 Rating: (20)	Hello, If this is an S7300 CPU you are only allowed to open one block online at a time. There is no way around this as far as I know. The s7400 supports two blocks which can be opened online at one time.

Arunakat1 Posts: 217 Rating: (52)	Dear how come, I think it a matter of memory and the interface you are using. If your FCs need lot of memory then it will be only one is possible. Also I think it depends on the interface you are using, weather you are using MPI, Profi bus or Ethernet. To my knowledge I think you can monitor more block with Ethernet interface.
