Unable to open scout project

oyvindyr Posts: 5 Rating: (0)	Hi there, I have a major problem with my project on Simotion Scout. When i try to open the project that i accessed and saved last time on Saturday i get the following message : "The project is write-protected or is already being used by another proccess on a different computer. You can try to open the project write-protected. Changes may be lost on closing. Do you want to open the project write-protected ?" And when i click "Yes" on that message the i get the following: "Error occured while opening the project! %project_directory/project_name.s7p Access to the project has been denied" I checked if the project files are write-protected and they are not. Then i restarted my computer to be sure that no other programs are using the project file. But i still get the same message. Anyone have any idea about that ? What should i do ?

Can you open this project in SIMATIC MANAGER without errors? If this ok then save the project in the SIMATIC MANAGER with a another name and open this new project in SCOUT. Regards ChristophD

oyvindyr Posts: 5 Rating: (0)	I could open the project in SIMATIC MANAGER without errors but it was empty. No program was present in programs folder. But when i open another project that works well on SCOUT with SIMOTION MANAGER i cannot see any programs again. Do i have to do something else to see the programs ? My guess is that project.mcp file is corrupted because of bad sector in hard disk. Because when i copy that file to a new project folder i get the same error but when i copy another project.mcp file from another project SCOUT opens the project. It opens it withtout the folder layout but opens.

In Simatic Manager you only see the Stations which was in your project, no programs to or so. Can you save the project via Simatic Manager as a new project and reopen it in scout? Regards ChristophD P.S. use save as with reorganisation if normal save as doesn't work

oyvindyr Posts: 5 Rating: (0)	Hi again, I opened the project with Simatic Manager and saved as a different project with and then without reorganisation. But when i try to open the project with Simotion i got the same error again. I think i will have to write the project again. Am i right ?

In my case, 1. i was working on the same project 6 months before, and i take daily backups(archive as "zip" file). i'm unable to open any of those files, i get the same error. 2. in that sequence, i suspected a software problem, and, i uninstalled, and reinstalled "simotion scout". - did not work. i get the same error. 3. i tried this in another PC, and still i get the same error. 4. tried with another completed project and a stored archive, same error. kbd5ban Posts: 10 Rating: (0)	Hello Christop, The Simotion Version is : V4.1.5.3 + SP2 + HF4 OS : Windows XP + SP3 The copy of windows and simotion (including Simatic manager and related S/W) is the one, same and only copy of the softwares which i have been using for the past 8 months.
