Unattended Shutdown

jackr Posts: 17 Rating: (0)	In our application, the WinCC computer is used primarily for maintenance and troubleshooting. As such, it is generally not attended to. Since our equipment is mobile, it is also expected that power may be shut down with no warning or may be off for a substantial length of time. We will be implenting a UPS (Siemens SITOP DC UPS family) with the PC to safely shutdown Windowswhen this occurs. The question is: does a Windows shutdown also stop WinCC properly or am I asking for trouble? Should I run the Reset_WinCC.vbs utility included with WinCC before I allow the UPS software to shutdown Windows? I should note that I am using both trend logs and alarm logs. Thanks. jack
