Unified panel running extremely slow

HMIPanel206 Advanced Member Joined: 5/10/2021 Last visit: 8/24/2022 Posts: 36 Rating: (1)	Dear Siemens forum users, I've noticed that my Unified Comfort Panel is running extremely slow. I'm just testing out basic functionalities in a relative small project. I have around 30 screens and on each screen I run some simple things like reading/writing tag values, some JavaScript testing, gesture testing. I also installed a Node-red app, from the 4 available Edge Apps to run. The panel is very slow and almost unusable, I have to touch everything almost 3 times before it triggers what I'm touching. Also the time in the header only seems to update every 3-5 seconds. Sometimes it's so bad that the whole panel freezes for over 30 minutes and become unusable, the web client seems to be still accessible though. I'm wondering what could cause this? What are the most resource consuming task a user could do? I'm also wondering if more people are experiencing this. I would like to use many of the new features on this panel, but it doesn't seem to meet its hardware requirements to perform these. Any help is appreciated! Greetings. The CPU usage drops to about 40%, how come 1 Edge App can consume so many resources? The panel should be able to run 4 simultaneously. I don't see how that is currently possible when 1 Edge App makes the panel almost unusable..

I have at the moment 6 panels running the exact same project, and 3 of them run OK, and 3 of them are extremely slow. Even the booting is slow. I have a ticket at Support and they are testing my hardware at the moment. // Lasse

I am also going to send my project files to Siemens so they can have a better look at it. Could you keep me up-to-date with your issue, and a possible solution or outcome?

At the moment the bootloader cannot be update remotely, so I am investigating, on how to send my panels to Siemens DE to got it all updated. // Lasse

I was wondering how the bootloader story ended? Have you sent your panels to Siemens? I recently received 3 MTP1200 HMIs, Unified HMIs. Two were sent to warranty. Being: - First, the touchscreen didn't work; - The second, after a while, it stopped downloading, until there was a general problem with the bootloader.

I was wondering how the bootloader story ended? Have you sent your panels to Siemens? User HedebyL has not been active on the forums for a few weeks, so a reply from him may take a little longer. In general, you will need to verify that you can send your device in for a bootloader upgrade. And in general, most performance issues are not bootloader related and need to be analyzed separately. If you explain your observations in more detail, the community may be able to provide some guidance on how to improve performance. In most cases, upgrading the device version will result in better performance - unfortunately, it will also result in other bugs. But to be honest, in most cases an analysis of your project will be needed to find possible changes that will give you better performance. To have this done, you should contact Siemens technical support. Please provide more details about the device, device version, engineering version, and bootloader version. For your information, the Unified Comfort Panels currently leave the factory with bootloader version V9.0. Kind regards Stefan
