Hello everyone!

I started a project on TIA V17 Upd.6 and have set a system with Engineering PC, RealTime PC and a Client PC.

I program my project on the Engineering PC “MyEng_PC_01” with a single/simple web page and configure a  RealTime PC in the project.

I exported the RealTime PC project to the computer “My_RT_PC_01” and everything looks fine, I can see on Runtime Manager that my project is running (at some point I even could open the webpage on the RT computer but not any more)

Here is the END of the happy story.

I have read many articles and support files, but still can not configure my system to work as it should.
I’m quite sure I have problems with:

1. Users and Roles – in the project setup.
   1. I’m not sure what impact have the users and roles defined here on my “My_RT_PC_01” for running the Realtime project and allow other users to open the page?
   2. Are these Users connected my some way with the PC users logged on the 3 computers in my system?
   3. Shall the web clients also be presented in this Users and roles?

1. Of course the next problem is Certificates, as I said I have read many instructions but still no luck. Can some one explain for dummies here:

I have tried to use WinCC Certificate Manager on the “My_RT_PC_01” and generated all possible certificates for the other 2 machines – as I think my Rea Time PC should certify who can open/connect the WEB page. I then exported the certificates in a *.enc file and tried to install the certificates on my other 2 PCs My_Client_PC_01 and My_Eng_PC_01 but import was not possible, I have a message the file could not be decrypted with this password.

How do I operate with certificates?

I really hope some one can explain for dummies – ME how this 2 things go together Certificates / Users and roles and may be then I will be a step closer to success.

create on the Runtime PC in the certificate manager a CA with your Runtime Station and then create a webserver certificate and install it. Then run the unified configuration again in the runtime pc and use the installed certificate. You can also use only IP Adress if there are problems with name resolution (then also the IP has to be used in the Certificates)

then restart your system and RT Project. then if you connect to the server from the client in the Unified start screen there should be a new option do download the certificate for a secure https connection -> but you can also use an unsure connection for testing
