Unsopported AI Module TIA Portal v12

Jota.Catrileo Posts: 8 Rating: (0)	Hello everybody, I have a S7-300 PLC programmed with TIA Portal, and i need to replace one of it's modules. The only module we have available is a 331-7KF01-0AB0, BUT this module is no longer supported in TIA Portal (since it was released before 2008). Is there any way i can make this module work? (Maybe trying to create our own HSP file based on another one, for example...) The system has not yet been delivered and this module change decition took place when the program was almost finished, just a couple weeks before comissioning. If i can't make this work, i'm afraid i'll have to spend my nights programming everything again on step 7 5.5... Thanks in advance!

fritz Diamond Member Joined: 10/7/2005 Last visit: 3/20/2025 Posts: 3042 Rating: (1061)	Hello Jota.Catrileo well, the 331-7KF01 is rather ancient, but here afew ideas from my side anyhow: 1.) Leave the configuration as 7KF02 and simply plug in the 7KF01 andchances are it willwork(the 7KF02 is meant to be "functionally identical and fully compatible"with 7KF01, see also HERE for more). 2.) In case7KF01is located in an ET200M: Grab the GSD file forthe ET200M and configure it GSD file based with a 7KF01 instead of using TIA portal HW catalogue metadata. 3.) If all fails, get an emergency delivery for a 7KF02 (I'd rather do that than contemplating manually rewritingthe TIA Portal Step7 program with Step 7 "classic). I hope this helps

Jota.Catrileo Posts: 8 Rating: (0)	Thanks a lot for you answer! In fact yesterday i was going to try and program the cpu with tia portal, but transfer HW Config part with Step 7 5.5. To my surprise, when I transfered the config in Tia Portal, everything worked fine as you pointed out (I used 7KF02 instead), so nothing needed to be done. I hadn't tried it before 'cause I didn't had access to the CPU and module. Anyway, your second approach also caught my attention, I'll definitly have it in mind in the future. Thanks!
