I would like to configure a connection between two PLC: S7300 (314-1AG14-0AB0 - TIA V13) and S7400 (417-4HT14-0AB0 - PCS7 7.0 SP3).

I've been read some articles in the forum, but I still have some question about this configuration and how to procedure step by step with that.

So ask you to correct me if I am wrong:

Linking these 2 projects, I can create an unspecified S7 connection at S7300 on TIA V13 and configure blocks GET and PUT in network at OB1. In S7400 side, I should create two DB's (shrade one) to receive and send data.

If you have some tutorial showing an example of how to configure something like, it could be very useful to me.

I'm proceeding with the Unspecified S7 Connection.

I prepared the program in S7300 (TIA V13 SP1) and the DB's in the S7400. So, now, I have 2 questions:

1) S7300-TIA V13 SP1: The blocks GET and PUT are returning ERROR=0, STATUS=25 (sometimes). The bit NDR remains in FALSE all the time. Do you have any idea what is causing this status?

2) S7400: creating DB for an unspecified S7 connection is in the blocks area and inserting a new block, a DB one. Actually I created 2 DB`s. Then, I set some variables and their data type and start value. I compiled and downloaded entire after I created the DB. Is it all right?

I will send some images of the situation. Otherwise, if you have idea or tip to this, I thank you.

Hi,

1) As far as I remember 25 means "active job". NDR may be set very short so you can see it changing to 1. Put a counter at NDR and see if it is counting upwards...

2) Seems to be ok.

Have you been able to send data to the 400?

1) You're rigth! 25 means the job is processing! So, the connection was good!

2) I was able to send data to S7-400

3) The length data configured in the GET and PUT blocks wasn't compatible. So, after I changed it, the unspecified S7 connection has worked very well!

So, next week I will do it in the field project.

And I implemented the counter to see if the DONE signal of GET block were going to 1.

For the next test, I will use the link of Towome about data transfer of more than 160 bytes using GET and PUT.

I'm having very similar problems that the original poster had. I am trying to connect 2 S7-300 PLCs together with unspecified S7 connection so that i could use "GET" function to get just few bool bits.

 I have configured the S7 connection according to S7_connection.pdf. Both PLCs are in the same network. I have used "GET" function to get 2 bytes from correct DB to DB on my PLC that has more than 2 bytes of room in it.

When I monitor the GET function i'm using, REQ bit is TRUE and STATUS bit shows 16#0019(25=Communication has started. The job is being processed.) . After a while REQ bit goes to FALSE and STATUS goes to 0 very briefly. Then this repeats itself. Between 0 and 25 the STATUS goes to 1(Communications problems)  and ERROR bit goes to TRUE. This can't be seen on naked eye but it does happen in every cycle.

I really need help with this on because I am running out ideas for the reason for this error.
