If a want inputs that are consitent over the background cycle, and that have a symbolic name, I create a name in the adres list and give an adres like '%I0.3'.In the adres list I have no option to select the 'process image', but I suppose by specifiying the adres like '%I0.3', this is always in the process image of the background cycle. In this case my adres range of the respective IO-modules is max 64. All Correct? If I do not acces bits, but bytes, I could specify an IO-adress like '%IW 0' (the process image column is not selectable, because always process image of background circle I suppose? I could also specify the IO-adres as 'PIW 0' and then select 'background task' as process image. Does this last way of working has the same result as defining '%IW0'? All Correct? If I select 'PIW 0' as IO-adrs and IPO-synchronous task as proces image, can I rely on the fact then that the input variable will be consistent over the IPO cycle, and that at every start of an IPO-cycle, the variable will be updated? Correct? If I want to read out piw 0 in the background cycle consistently I need to have a variable definition like '%IW0' or 'PIW 0' with process image 'Background task' be have consitent values over the background cycle, Correct? How do I configure a single input bit that is consistent over f.i. the IPO-cyle?

It is possible to assign an I/O to a 'process image' Infos: 6.7 Isochronous I/O processing on fieldbus systems http://support.automation.siemens.com/WW/view/en/60744985 How do I configure a single input bit that is consistent over f.i. the IPO-cyle? You have to configure a dummy byte with the adress of the single input and configure 'process image" and "substitution value". input PI 0.0 and dummybyte PIB 0
