• If you upgrade the TIA Portal to V17 Update 8, you can continue to configure and load WinCC Unified PC Runtime V17 Update 7.

• If you want to simulate the project or use TIA Portal V17 Update 8 and WinCC Unified PC Runtime V17 Update 7 on the same PC, you need the patch "Patch to enable WinCC Unified PC Runtime / Simulation with TIA Portal V17 Update 8". Please contact Siemens Technical Support (Siemens Technical Support) about this.
  
  For fast processing, enter the following in the subject line of the service request:
  "Patch Unified Runtime für V17 Update 8 und WCCILScsService"
  

• This patch can also be used if a Unified Runtime cannot be started and the message "WCCILScsService - Service Failed failed w/err 0xffffffc5" is entered in the Windows Event Viewer.

The users who use TIA Administrator to keep their systems updated will not see this note in that software. Hopefully some users will notice it here in this topic.
