William_B Posts: 5225 Rating: (1165)	Lamboom Ya know, if the basic procedure above is correct.. why couldn't Siemens just say to do it that way Micheal, We can't blame Siemens for this one. The procedure is written up somewhere.. I am sure you'll find it if you looked. We can't expect to have the procedure spelled out every time there is an update fo software. Those of us that has done this plenty of times has forgotten where we were first told of this. Don't worry.. move on and go create some PLC magic! w

Lamboom Posts: 90 Rating: (0)	William... FYI Total success... upgraded from SP1 to SP2, then installed update 5 for TIA, Step & WinCC. And catalog had all the stuff i neded .. like SM 1223 (DC/DC) .. I'm wondering why I can't include the eithernet switch CSM1277 .. be nice to include that in network view... but, perhaps that isn't necessary. Only thing I need now, is to figure out how to close this thread .. as solved ... :-)

Only thing I need now, is to figure out how to close this thread .. as solved ... :-) To make the CSM1277 appear in the network, go to the topology view and drag in the csm1277 from the list of devices. Then you can make your device connections that show the csm1277.
