Upgrading Siwarex S to Siwarex FTA, while retaining S5 controllers

Fazal Posts: 35 Rating: (0)	Hello all, One of our customers wants to upgrade only 2 Siwarex S modules out of an S5-155U rack (With CPU 946, CP1430), while keeping all the other functionality and I/Os as it is. To achieve that, I plan to use a S7-300 controller along with 2 Siwarex FTA modules connected on the same network via CP 343-1. My questions are: Siwarex: 1. Older Siwarex S had hardwired outputs - Coarse, fine and overload - to control the filling (as Upward Batching). How do i achieve this using Siwarex FTA. 2. There are 3 load cells connected in parallel to the older Siwarex S as shown in the attachment image. Can i retain the same connections for Siwarex FTA? S5-S7 communication : 1. Is it possible to receive the setpoint from S5 over the ethernet network? 2. Can we send the actual weight measurement from Siwarex to S5. If yes, how !! Your help will be highly appreciated. You can define a functionality for each of these 8 digital outputs, e.g.: - Coarse signal - Fine signal - Limit value for overloading You can achieve this, by setting the parameters of the Siwarex FTA module into the “DR7” / “Digital outputs” of the Siwatool software. If you don’t have the Siwatool software, you can download the demoversion on the internet: http://support.automation.siemens.com/WW/view/en/18788325 With that demoversion, you can “play” a little bit into your office. 2. The Siwarex FTA module doesn’t need the junction box 7MH3710-3AA. The Siwarex FTA module needs only the 3 load cells and one of the two junction boxes for connecting the load cells in parallel: - SIWAREX JB, aluminum housing: 7MH4710-1BA (see also the pdf-page 63 of the attached file) - SIWAREX JB, stainless steel housing: 7MH4710-1EA (see also the pdf-page 65 of the attached file) S5-S7 communication: 1. Well, if you are using a S7-300 along with a Siwarex FTA module, the S7-300 PLC has full access to the Siwarex FTA module, also to the setpoint.But I don’t know, if S5 supports Ethernet. Profibus-DP is working! 2. As mentioned, you have full access to the Siwarex FTA module with the S7-300 PLC. But I don’t know, if S5 supports Ethernet. Fazal Posts: 35 Rating: (0)	Many thanks Siwarexi for the information. One more question : The exisiting Siwarex S has been calibrated and all the parameters for dosing are set on the card. Is there a way that I can export all these settings or at least get these settings from this old card so that I can reuse the same values for the new Siwarex FTA.

I recommend you to do the adjustment as described into the attached file. (If you have questions to the procedure, you can ask me) If you want, you can read the dosing parameters from the Siwarex S module to the S5-PLC. But I have no experience how to do this… Ask your customer for the following dosing parameters, so you can set these parameters correctly into the Siwarex FTA module: - set weight of the dosing (DR20 into Siwatool) - Trailing weight (DR22 into Siwatool) - Fine weight (DR22 into Siwatool) These are the most important parameters for a dosing. Misjo Posts: 1 Rating: (0)	Hallo Fazal The Parameter from the Siwarex S are all in one Datablock. You can transfer this Datablock with Siemens Step 5 Program. In the Attachment you can find the Manual. In this Manual you can find all Parameter from the Siwarex S. With best Regards MISJO Sorry the Manual was to big. Only the Parameter in the Attachment.
