upload cp5431 EPROM

Hello

I want make a backup from  cp5431 EPROM memory  . Is it possible upload program of this Eprom via cp5431 15 pin socket   by SIMATIC field PG ? Or I should unplug EPROM memory and upload it's program.

Software required:

Step 5

COM package COM 5431

Cable required:

Standard S5 cable for downloading to the CPU.

As i understand , both two options is possible .   

1- make a backup from  cp5431 EPROM memory  via cp5431  15 pin socket by SIMATIC field PG P4 2-Unplug EPROM memory from CP  and connect it to EPROM slot of field PG an uploading the content of EPROM .

Are there OK ?

Yes, both options are possible.

When you connect directly to 15 pins connector on CP card, you can even make backup while the PLC remains in RUN.
