Upload HW config from the PLC

jelcyno Posts: 39 Rating: (1)	Hi All, Is there any chance to copy a current HW config from the PLC to the PG (by copying SDB or sth like that)? Currently I do not have a last hardware version in my offline project so I was wondering if I can get it directly from the PLC. The PLC's are networked by SimaticNet. I'm using two types of the PLC S7 300 and S7 400 series. Thanks in advance Łukasz

aikona Posts: 487 Rating: (36)	Hi Just do an upload but when done check if the number and versions correspond Sometimes you upload a say S7 315 cpu and it xill give you V2.0 instead of V2.2 .You can then just take the correct version and place it over the existing one ....Read the dialog boxes carefully before you click YES. Lukaz, Uploading the project will not bring the HW version to STEP7. You can have the uploaded project as a backup. To update your HW catalog in Step7 you need to install the updates which is free and available over internet. Anchobi Posts: 139 Rating: (25)	Also note, the latest release of firmware for some devices may not be supported by all versions of step 7 and will not download via the hardware update tool. So if you complete the hardware update and the version of firmware you are expecting is still not there you may have to either roll back the firmware of the device (discarding improvements, bug fixes and addtional functionality)or upgrade to the latest version of step 7
