Hello gueriad; Transfering a program from your PC (with ProTool) to a OP17 HMI is refered to as "downloading". "Uploading" is the reverse operation, from the HMI to the PC, and with these older equipments it is only partially allowed 9you can only upload a compiled program that you cannot edit any more, only download to a similar HMI). For this operation you will need a RS-232C cable, 9-pin (on the PC COM port) to 15-pin (on the OP's IF1A port). Most computers do not have a COM port anymore, you will have to use a USB to RS232 converter, but I myself do not have experience with one that will surely work for an OP17. Possibly someone else on the forum can provide this information. Siemens used to provide a cable 6XV1440-2KH32 (the last letter + 2 digits is a length code, H32 means 3.2 m) for this type of download (see the following table): What transfer options are available in the various operator panels? There is a description of the pinout of the cable, as you would probably have to build one (from another site in Appendix D of the OP17 manual: OP7, OP17 Operator Panel and in the following FAQ (look for the paragraph on 6XV1440-2K...): http://support.automation.siemens.com/WW/view/en/29034071 To enter transfer mode, follow the instructions in the attached screencapture, taken from the same OP17 manual. Hope this helps, |
