But usually, you can trust in posts from Hulzhex... fritz • Statement list (STL) and step sequence programming (GRAPH, SFC) are additionally available for the controller series S7-1500, S7-300, S7-400 and WinAC. You make my day!

0_Einstein Diamond Expert Joined: 7/7/2010 Last visit: 5/19/2025 Posts: 15876 Rating: (2502)	If the STL is simple enough, you can copy the STL to MicroWIN, then change it to LAD or FBD, and then copy that back to your S7-1200 project. I think there is an STL->SCL converter available and from that, you can use S7-300 SCL->S7-1200 SCL conversion (details in the FAQs), and import using external source option in S7-1200 project. Maybe one of these options is close enough. But, if there is any special indirect addressing or timing related functions, or other calls, your import into the S7-1200 will fail to compile and you will need to fix those problems manually or create alternative approaches. Post your results!

Can you explain how do you using "external source option" with TIA V11? Expand your project tree. In the PLC portion of the project tree below all the other FBs/FCs/OBs, there is an option to use external source files (SCL) using more traditional Step 7 ASCII .SCL files. It then creates the portal interface (mostly) and includes the SCL source. There is an SCL conversion tool that does a better job of converting Step 7 SCL to Portal SCL. That conversion tool does a very good job of reworking the generic SCL source file into portal happy SCL. I have tried both methods. The conversion tool is a must for anything more than trivial SCL or for entire libraries of SCL. It is not flawless, but will save many hours of work :)

I asking forthe different direction: Generate Source from SCL - block inside TIA! I just find the "Save as text" option. Is there no better way? All the source funtions in TIA are very puny, I think so. I have not tested the other direction as I only have the portal basic software. I have a request for quote out for portal pro version 12 with various licensing options.
