Good morning

I have having some issues with the user administration on a Simatic PC Station.

I've added a user and password (actually tried many different users and passwords) and everything works fine in simulation on my PC.

But when I download to the station, I keep getting the message 'Login failed, invalid username or password'. I am confident the password is correct, because it works on simulation.

Runtime settings:

- No limit for logon attempts

- Login only with password

Things I've found on other posts and tried:

- Rebuild the entire solution

- Overwrite all during download

What else can I do here?

First of all, please, are you using RT Advanced or RT Professional?

In any case I would recommend deleting the IM folder as it is explained below:

And if possible check if this happens with all users or only with that one.

Hello AVERF,

I guess you are using a WinCC RT Advanced. Then go to the directory where the project is loaded to (see Runtime Loader > Settings) and check wether there is a file with extension pwl or pwx (where x is a number). If there is not such a file then you have to select to update user administration when downloading the project (in the popup where you click "Load").

 Where exactly can I find the runtime loader? Is that on the IPC?
Yes I am using RT Advanced.
I've tried loading without the checkbox 'overwrite all' and with the checkbox activated so it would write user administrations, but none of it works.

There is just one Windows user which is automatically logged on, no special security system.

A bit off topic, the unit developed some weird issues since the beginning of this week. After startup the touch screen flickers and does not respond when touching it. You have to literally wipe your hand across the screen for it to start acting normal again. And normal is still relative because after every restart the calibration is way off and unusable. We're currently using a mouse to navigate because it's not workable like this.

It's been a while for my reply, I had some other projects to do in the meantime.

The PWX file is actually in the folder. Overwriting all in the loader does not make any difference. Since today, the runtime keyboard no longer works aswell... This IPC station is having all sorts of issues lately which occur out of nowhere...
