User editable APL manual

CaptainFanatic Posts: 34 Rating: (2)	There is a document included with the PCS7 install media called "PCS7 - Operating Instructions Operator Station Process Control.doc". This is very useful in that it can be customised for a site and distributed to operators. I would like to know if a similar .doc format document is available for the APL manual "PCS 7 - Manual for Advanced Process Library V8.0". This document is available only as .pdf on the PCS7 DVD. If a .doc was provided it would allow for modification to include site specific customised blocks developed in line with the APL style guide. Is this available anywhere or could it be made available in future releases?

Silent Bob Posts: 836 Rating: (100)	Hi, if you can't find the *.doc, I assume it's not available. And I don't belive they will provide it in the future. You could use the My Documenatation Manager (http://support.automation.siemens.com/WW/view/en/68154793, and on the left side: Displaying and configuring) to create you customized documentation by selecting chapters. As far as I know you can export these into PDF and XML.... Maybe that helps somehow, because you can edit the XML. Another approach wold be to use some tool to convert the PDF into Doc...
