V10.5 licence, V11 SP2 upgrade, and Windows 7 64 bits

alfredupont Posts: 6 Rating: (0)	Hi, Until recently, I had the following configuration : * Windows XP * Licenced Full version of Step 7 V10.5. * Licenced Upgrade to V11 SP1. * V11 SP2 free download. Now, my company has changed my old XP computer for a Windows 7 64 bits brand new computer. Apparently, only Step 7 V11 SP2 supports windows 7 64 bits Even if I have a Step 7 V11 licence, my CD is only an upgrade, so I cannot install it directly. But I cannot install V10.5 either because the setup does not run on 64 bits machines. How can I get a full version of Step 7 V11 SP2 ? Please don't tell me I have to buy a V11 once again :) Thanks in advance for your help !

This looks a bit complicated, I'm not sure I get it right, can you confirm if the following steps are correct : First, I need a Step 7 Basic V11 SP2 Trial DVD, ref 6ES7822-0AA01-0YA7 This will allow me to install Step 7 V11 SP2 on a new Windows 7 64 bits computer. Then, I need a Step 7 Basic V11 Single to Floating License update, ref 6ES7822-0AA01-0YC5 Once this update has been installed on the old computer, I will be able to transfer the license to a USB stick. Finally, I have to import the license from the USB stick to the new computer. Is this correct ?

Since we are for the most part just end users like yourself, our best suggestion for something like this is to contact Siemens via the Support Request option or contact your local Siemens distributor. There could be new options or changes to the license distribution methods that only Siemens would know about.

Basically, they told me I only need Step 7 Basic V11 Single to Floating License update, ref 6ES7822-0AA01-0YC5 I think I'm even more lost than before, I have absolutely no idea how i'ts gonna work Anyway, I'll buy this reference, then, wait and see. I have the feeling that it's gonna be a long hard road, as usual with Siemens...

You will have to upgrade license on older PC and after that transfer it to new PC (Windows 7 64 bits) Best regards, Wizard
