V20 run on startup

The V20 will not run on a power up, as you have found.

The following will insert a one second delay into the run command, to give the drive time to boot up first.

P701:0 = 99, this frees up DIN1 to be used elsewhere

P2800 = 1, activates the 'free function blocks'.

P2802:0 = 1, activate 'timer' 1.

P2849 = 722:0, connect the timer to DIN1.

P2850 = 1, one second time delay.

P2851 = 0, timer mode selection, ON Delay.

P840:0 = 2852, connect timer output to the 'run' command.

I cannot test this through lack of kit, so please let me know if it works.

The Sinamics V20 here is required to start and run on application of power.

To make this work a time delay is applied, 1 second seems right, this ensures the device is powered up before it can accept the run command, the timer then applies the run command.

The V20 contains timers, many gate types, flip flops, Add, multiplier, and dividers; access to use these hidden gems requires some time with the 'Operating Instructions', and some practice using the instructions.

The above example shows a time delay. (the graphic for this explanation I have copied from the Micromaster manual, the MM4 and V20 code is similar).

At this time the V20 does not have an easy method of using these internal gates, as far as I know?

My method relies upon the a good working knowledge of the 'Operating Instructions', and using 'Drive Monitor', which is a Siemens software package for drives, connect this via 232/485 converter to P&N. Drive Monitor, reduces the amount of button pressing necessary for this, it has been around for some time now and will identify most of the parameters in the V20, but not all of them, so you are on your own with this one, and it is not supported for use any longer.
