V90 and S7-1200

Sistemi Zero Member Joined: 6/9/2017 Last visit: 10/29/2020 Posts: 5 Rating: (0)	Good morning, we purchased the hardware to manage an electric axis in combination with an S7-1200 PLC: - Sinamics V90 - Siemens motor with encoder connected to the V90 - S7-1215C The functionalities to implement are relative simple: - Homing (axis should go to a Limit Switch and then reverse) - Manual movements forward and backward at a set speed - Movements at position at a set speed Reading in the various forums it seems that there are various possibilities to implement the software system: - Positioner in the V90 and only communication with the PLC via telegrams - Technology object in the PLC - Etc. Which one do you think is the best method? Is it possible to have an example? We have also seen that, for using TIA V15, it seems that the V90 can be configured with the internal StartDrive package (instead of V-Assistant package). It's correct? Or you can use TO pisitioning also in PLC. I had perfomed Forwad-reverse positioning (300mm) within 250ms using IPos mode in V90.

The Profinet Version has the basic positioner (called EPOS). This can be used, and on the PLC side you can take the SINA_POS block from the Drive Library.
