Variable Frequency Drivers

Hello experts,

Recently i've got a project to upgrade a control system for a plant.

There is at this moment STOBER VFD's communicating through Profibus DP with the PLC, the drives are with Brake module and absolute encoder and brake resistance, power rated 6KW.

i would like to upgrade these drive to siemens drives with profinet interface, but i couldn't find any similar equipment of siemens products.

any suggestions would accepted with thanks.

The plant is actually a curtain for the metal coating industry.

There are 6 motors, 2 which rewind/unwind the curtain each on every side(left and right), and 4 motors which lift up/down the whole curtain 2 motors on each side(left and right).

• can you explain a little bit more what does it mean coupled DC link? i think it would be single axis.
• motors are asynchronous.
• position.
• as i mentioned profinet interface, brake module, and brake resistors, option to diagnostic software.

Hello,

depending on the application requirements there are different SINAMICS drives available. You should descripe a little bit more you application e.g.:

• number of axis
• coupled DC link or single axis drives
• motor types (synchronous or asynchronous)
• position, speed or torque control
• special functions required

after a little research there are coupling DC link, i'm not sure if all together(1 DC link) or some how else.

Between each two motors and not connected on the same bus.
