I am working on a project in which i created a checkbox list, i am using Wincc RT Advanced which doesn't have a built in Checkbox so i created one using boolean to minimise the memory since i save them in a s7-1200 so i won't lose the selections in case the scada PC is turned off for whatever reason.

Those booleans i wanna use them for a math operation in VB script

per exemple: Note1, Note2, Note3, Note4 and i wanna add the notes selected using the Checkbox booleans. like this

Max = Note1 * Select1 + Note2 * Select2 + Note3 * Select3 + Note4 * Select4

This is my idea, if a Note"i" is selected then Select"i" is "True" which is also "1", but apparently it doesn't work.

Can anyone please help me ?

 If you want to do this you can take help of script, make a function which returns an integer value as 1 or 0.

For example:

if select_tag then

return 1;

else 

return 0;

end_if;

the type of the function is integer and let its name be test

now you can use it in your system as

max = note1 * test(select1) + note2* test(select2) + ........ + note_n * test(select_n)

hope it helps or write back to me. I havent tested it, but you can give it a try.

Your function seems logical, it will be loads of copy and paste since i am adding 49 values in 4 different scripts ^^' which will be 49*4.

I have one last question please, if you can tell me how can i define a function inside vb script so i can use it furthur more.

 Done . Its done on TIA v15 just refer the scripts and the screen and the calling of the scripts
