VBs logging selected tags

I want to be able to make a selection which analog values I want logged (for example by button, button on => log tag, button off => DO NOT log tag). Can anyone tell me how I should approach this? Did anyone do something similar? I guess VBs is the way to go? Does anyone has some example scripts that can get me started? My VBs knowledge is very limited, I learned a bit myself but I'm not experienced at all, so it would be kind if you provided as much as information and comments as possible. In this FAQ alltags that needs to be logged are predefined but in my case I need the freedom to add and remove tags via HMI. The thing I'm really stuggling with is finding a way to add and remove additional analog values to this script. For the logging itself I can follow that FAQ. Kind regards, Jens

I'll just add some conditions to my LinePrint, this will solve my problem. I have another question though... is it possible to alter the loggingcycle for each logging tag via script? DanielN Posts: 17 Rating: (2)	Hi Jens, I've added the project im working on at the moment, there you can disable diffrent parts of the script from the HMI so that part isn't written into the csv file. If i understand you correctly, that is what you need. The way that works is. If TagXX=true then Write ABC end if If TagYY=True Write DEF end if And by setting it up correcly, the csv file will either only show 1 of the texts, none or both. Do you mean that Tag1 needs to be logged every 100ms While Tag2 every 1s If so i assume you'll have to make 2 scripts on and each on its own cycle. Or do you sometimes need to log Tag 1 & 2 every 100ms and another time every 1sec If so i assume you could link your script to different tags that execute the script when and how often you want it to and control it from the PLC.

I also need a way to test the logging script via PLCSIM, don't think the *.csv gets stored anywhere. Kind regards, Jens

Sadly enough we are still stuck with V11 over here :( To bad :( You will not be able to run a simulation for the script, something about the PC not having the right debugging tools to run it, i'm afraid you need a Comfort Panel to test it. EDIT And in order to log the different tags at diffrent intervals, i think the best solution there is to have 2 scripts and call them at different intervals. The second script should be pretty much just copy/paste and then changing the tag names. Not sure how it will work with saveing the data in the same file with 2 scripts .. worst case they can get their own file each.
